      Scrabble Tournament: Attend the Friends of the Homer Library’s 5th Annual Scrabble Tournament. Registration begins at 9 a.m., at Land’s End Resort.  Play begins at 10 a.m. The tournament is open to all experience levels and ages, and three levels of play will be offered.

    March 16   In honor of International Women's Day, a presentation and discussion of Greg Mortenson's book, Three cups of Tea, will be held 5:45-7:45 p.m., Conference Room 
    March 17   After School Chapter Book Story Hour will feature a special presentation of Listen to the Wind, the story of Three Cups of Tea, by Greg Mortenson and S. L. Roth.  Youth are invited to participate, 4-5 p.m., Children's Room
    March 22   The Friend of the Library welcome Julian Henry Lowenfeld, author of My Talisman. Julian will talk about the Russian poet Aleksandr Sergeyevich Pushkin, who has been referred to as the Russian Shakespeare. This is an after-hours event, 6:30 p.m., Fireplace room. 
    March 24   Preschool Story Hour will feature a presentation of Let There Be Peace On Earth and Lit It Begin With Me, by Jill Jackson and Sy Miller, 10-11 a.m., Children's Room
    March 26   Beginning Surfing the Internet: Adults are invited to learn more about basic internet surfing with Ryan Ridge.  Class is free and first-come, first-serve, 3:30-5:30, Conference Room
    March 29   Seward's Day.  The Library will be closed.
    March 31   Lifelong Learner nominations wanted:  Nominations will be accepted through March 31. Applications will be available online, and at the library.
